James Taylor is a founder of MathAmigos in 2017 and has been the driving force behind its Math Circles and Exploding Dots programs. James is an instructor at all MathAmigos’ teacher workshops, and actively seeks out and provides mentoring to SFPS teachers who become workshop instructors. As founder of the Math Circles Collaborative of New Mexico and the Math Teachers’ Circle of Santa Fe, James has led countless math circles, festivals, and wrangles in New Mexico and Arizona. He retired after 21 years at Santa Fe Preparatory School as computer department chair, computer and mathematics teacher, and Director of Technology.
