MathAmigos Mission and Objectives

Mission:

MathAmigos is dedicated to helping teachers inspire kids to love math and bring students from K through 12 the joy and power of mathematics–throughout northern New Mexico.

Objectives:

• Provide teaching strategies for immediate classroom use that deepen long-term mathematical thinking for teachers and students.
• Strengthen our community partnerships to increase our impact on math teaching and learning.
• Reach beyond the schools to families and the broader community to gain engagement in joyful mathematics.
• Build upon our direct work using mathematics competitions and debates (math wrangles) in Santa Fe Public School classrooms, extending into all of northern NM
• Expand our outreach to Spanish-speaking parents and students through our website and additional communication channels.
• Continue to emphasize evaluation and feedback for the design of our programs.
